Theatre/Film

Peter Kalu has written plays for stage, radio and film.  His first play was the award-winning,  Afrogoth. Written for BBC Radio 4, it came out of his ‘Gothic’ phase. He then wrote Xango’s Challenge for BBC Radio 3, based on a story from Yoruba mythology. This was followed by Downfall, a gangster drama for stage, and then after a long sabbatical, Pants, the award-winning comedy, also for stage. Simultaneously with Pants, he wrote the ten minute detective film, No Trace.

In the last three years he has worked on an opera for theatre and  a commission that dramatizes the landscape and fortunes of the mill town of Glossop, Derbyshire.
